Merry Christmas!

What a busy couple of weeks we have had....Christmas already a week and a half behind us and finally sitting down to blog! Well I imported pictures awhile ago....just trying to finish writing about it all.
This year was pretty quiet. This year was when we all spend Christmas day with the in laws (and then we do our Christmas on New Year's day). So we had Josh's mom and sister over. It was pretty quiet. We started with a yummy brunch. Josh and I bought a ham for later in the day and we enjoyed that with Josh's dad, everyone else was gone by 11:30.
On to pictures.....there is a lot!!!!!
Kaylee is officially smiling, cooing and "talking" to people. It is so fun to have her start interacting now.
Emma being a cutie....love her blue eyes! Couldn't have asked for a better Christmas present! We are so lucky! Auntie Anna and Uncle James One of Kaylee's presents (thanks Anna and James!) Grandpa with a sleeping beauty! Don't I look thrilled???? I think I was caught off guard! Nana Kaylee's first doll! My little family! Nana and Buck James...he is SO good with the girls! Another gift that is as big as Kaylee :) Proud Daddy! Josh and I got a wonderful present this year!!!! I LOVE this picture, doesn't she just look so darn cute!?!?! Emma got this alphabet train from Santa!

So that was our (first) Christmas! Stay tuned for another post with our second Christmas and some video.

Is there anything better than a smile????

So I am pretty sure this is a REAL smile (NOT just gas!)! After Emma was in bed last night Kaylee and I had the best time chatting and smiling with each other! I love this picture!

From This....To This!

It amazes me how fast the year has gone...and how much Emma has become such a little person---in just one year! She is still our baby, but on her way to becoming a little girl! We had her 1 year check up today! Besides 5 shots :( .....everything went really well. She is 22 lbs (66%), 29 in. (48%) and her head is 18.03 in (72%).

Emma's First Birthday

Here is the fun we had this weekend! Video is a little long.....Enjoy!

Emma Walking

Here is a video of Emma's new moves. I think we can officially say she is walking. Just over the last couple of days it has been more and more.

Play Date, Presents, Santa,.......Oh My!

Kaylee Bug, that is what I have been calling her :)....doesn't do a whole lot yet so I feel like she gets a little left out! So, I thought I would open up with a pic of her! She is four weeks old now and growing. She no longer fits newborn clothes...hasn't for awhile now. This outfit is 3 months....a little big, but not bad! Anyway, she is good. Doesn't usually like the bouncy seat to much unless sleeping...this was a rare moment...and it didn't last long. She loves to be held and snuggled and if not, she is very fussy! Hopefully this will pass. She is very alert and loves to look around at everything. Emma still loves her and wants to touch and love on her all the time.
So when Kaylee came along I got the swing back out and guess who likes it???? I looked at the weight limit, hopefully we don't break it! She doesn't go in it very long or very often! She thinks it is the greatest thing, she loved it as a little baby also!
On Monday our friends Susan and Jack came over to play. They live way up north so it is a drive when we visit each other, but it is worth it. Jack is getting so big and it is so fun to see the Emma and him together...of course they don't interact much, but that's just their age.
So I have been trying to get our Christmas presents wrapped. This has been very hard with a very active 11 month (almost 1 yr.) old and a fussy newborn! So, while Kaylee was sleeping on Tuesday we tackled the presents. Emma was such a help---as you can see below!
Today we went and saw Santa! This was the first time for Emma (and Kaylee obviously). Emma didn't cry at all. She was a bit confused....she looks very serious in the picture, but it turned out pretty good (it's better in person). Of course AFTER the pic was taken Santa started to talk to Emma and then she smiled, why didn't he do that first???? Notice Emma and Kaylee and their matching outfits....girls are so fun!
So after visiting Santa we ventured out into the rest of the mall for a couple of Christmas presents. Our first trip to a place where there are no shopping carts (not like at Target and Walmart....the only places I've gone with the two of them!). We got our double stroller and it worked like a charm. I was afraid of the size, but it was very easy to maneuver and steer. Notice Emma's face????.....see next pic.....
So Santa gave out Suckers and Emma enjoyed hers! It kept her busy and quiet for a long time! It was alllllll over her, but she never once touched her hair!
And the last two pics are two better views of their cute outfits....they say "Happy to be me!"

So we started our week going into school so people could meet Kaylee, My teammates threw us a "diapers and wipes" party. We got lots of diapers and wipes, but some cute clothes also. OH--and Emma got a cute Big-Sister present. It's a purple Little People minivan with a mom and her baby...and the baby has a little stroller, so cute! Emma loves it! I have the greatest friends...thanks to all of you who helped to welcome little Kaylee!
The rest of the week was pretty quiet. Tuesday and Wednesday we stayed in the house....too cold to do anything. I think we were all in our PJs all day....both days! By Thursday I was going crazy so Emma went to Kendra's house and I ran errands. On to some pictures.... So after bath tonight...I was tending to Kaylee and found Emma in our bathroom, notice what she is playing with?!?! Not hurting anything....just funny! She looked up at me like What? when I asked her what she was doing. Some Nakey pictures. These were done when it was freezing outside...our house was warm..but I was chasing her to try to put clothes on her cause I kept thinking she must be cold, but I guess not!
So we found another show on TV that Emma likes, Yo Gabba Gabba (if you ask me it's pretty stupid). She loves it, I think it is because all of the music. It is the only show she will actually sit and watch. We were together on the couch but I thought she looked like such a big girl just sitting there all by herself...so I had to get a picture, look at her little tongue!
So most of the time Kaylee is sitting with me in my lap. Well Emma loves her and always wants to kiss, hug, hit (nice hits of course!), even share her toys with Kaylee. So here's a progression of pics I thought was funny. First, Kaylee minding her own business.
Emma...."Mama, Mama......" (she is wanting on my lap also!)
So instead I try to get a picture of her loving on Kaylee....not going to well! I told her to give Kaylee a kiss. Emma loves to touch her face, her eyes, mouth (she tries to put her hands inside) and her nose. I think it is because we have been learning and practicing this lately, but who knows?
Best I got......Aren't they cute???
