Hanging out with friends

On Sunday we headed out for a day at the zoo with Conner and Kelli! We went early so it wasn't too crowded and got a parking spot nice and close.
Aren't Kelli and Conner cute, I like this picture. See the hippo in the back....well Kelli and I were chatting about how whenever we've gone to the zoo the hippos are usually laying down sleeping or in the water. It was fun to see it up and walking around.
This is how Emma looked most of the morning...she was just happy to be strolling. I did take her out a couple of times so she could see some of the closer-and bigger- animals. I think mostly she just enjoyed people walking.
On Monday Jack and Susan came over to our house for our monthly get together. Last month we went there and that was when we went swimming. They live about 45 min away, but we still try to make time to see each other.....with me having to go back to work full time I'm not sure how that will work--I guess we have the weekends.
So I got this little baby pool and it was perfect for our little ones. They had fun and lasted about 25 minutes is all...but enough time to get some pics.
I have to explain this pic a bit. So Emma was laying back against the side facing Jack and Jack took her foot and decided he was going to eat it, OK maybe just taste it. Emma didn't mind. We couldn't grab the camera fast enough, so this is just after. loving the nice, warm sun
Random pics in the house. With this black onesie on Emma could pass for a boy---but still a cutie of course (maybe if you could see her earrings).

Not too much going on here. Just a quick update with some cute pictures...of course! This week has been a pretty quiet uneventful week.
Emma is going on two successful weeks of napping! Yea for me! and Yea for Kendra at daycare! She been sleeping about an hour or more in the morning and for 1 1/2 to 2 hours in the afternoon, thank goodness we are past that obstacle. Night time has always been good. Emma still gets up once to eat.....but she'll go 6-7 hours before eating and she sleeps about 12 hours for the night, I can't complain about that! She has also turned into a tummy sleeper. I put her on her back, but after she wakes up....she's on her tummy. I think that is what is helping with the napping. OK...enough sleep talk.
Here are a couple of pics and videos of my sweetie!
In honor of her great napping!
Sitting up all by herself (at least for about a minute, before tipping over)
Enjoying a musical-cube-toy:
Rolling back and forth

6 Month Photo Shoot

We had our six month photo shoot yesterday courtesy of Kathy Daly (KDaly Photography)...as expected she did a wonderful job and already has a few pics of Emma up on her site. Here are a few of my favorites!

Father's Day

Happy first Father's Day Josh!
We had a busy day for Josh's first Father's Day! We started out with waking up early and giving Josh his present. He got a card from Emma and me. He also got a mug that we decorated for him for his coffee and tea. Here are some pics--(those are suppose to be hand prints, this was the best we could get!)
After presents we headed off to church. Emma had a rough time for the first time. I guess there was another baby in the nursery who wasn't happy and Emma didn't like that so she started crying also. I guess they took turns crying, she looked so sad when we went to pick her up, poor baby!
After church we headed up to the mountains for a hike and a picnic. We went to the place where Josh and I had our first (alone) date and where we got engaged. We hadn't been up there since we got engaged, so it was fun to go again.
We are sitting in a "tree house". We don't know if that is what it is really called, but that is what we call it. The railing I'm standing in front off is where Josh asked me....what great memories! We you look out you can see downtown Denver and all the surrounding areas.
Aren't they cute! The two best things in my life!
So---Emma needed to be changed and she was being a bit fussy. When I took her diaper off she was so happy again, so we just left it off for awhile and let her be commando, she takes after her dad :)
Having some fun!
She loved the hike. While walking she would kick her feet and wave her arms all around.
After our hike and picnic we headed over to Nana Pamela's house for a small get together. Here is Grandpa Oscar holding Emma. She loved him holding her, she was so relaxed!
After all that.....we headed home for bed. We had a busy and fun day! Thanks Pamela for the delicious food and having us over.
Happy Father's Day Josh! Emma and I love you so much!

Happy 6 Month Birthday Emma!

Emma is six months today! We had her six month appointment this morning and she is still doing great, and was a champ with her shots again. She weighs 17lbs. 9 oz. (81%), 25 in. long (25%), and her head is 17 inches around (73%).
And....what is Emma up to at 6 months???? She is rolling over, sitting up, eating some solids, napping well (finally!), sleeping through most of the night (only waking once to eat), laughing, and being a cutie! Over all she is an easy going baby--though at times she definitely knows what she wants...and she will let you know!
Here are some cute pics on her 6 month birthday.

A Quick Trip to Greeley

We went to Greeley to visit Shelbi (my wonderful college roommate and friend) and Don for the night. Shelbi made us homemade pizza with homemade dough, Fancy and delicious!
Emma spending some quality time with Auntie Shelbi--you know chatting and catching up! I love this one! I'm pretty sure Emma loves her Shelbi! After spending the night and day with Shelbi and Don we had to say goodbye. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality and company, wish you lived closer so we could spend more time with you, but I guess an hour drive is really not that bad (we need to do it more often). Sorry Don I didn't get any pics of you with Emma! But we enjoyed your company as well.
Some cute pics for your enjoyment!LOOK! Enough hair for a bow!
Some quick videos of Emma playing and enjoying a book. Love this toy....Now Emma can bounce and she figured out that the seat goes around so she can get to all the different toys....and she'll play in it and stay entertained for at least 15-20 minutes. In the video she is looking down into the little mirror. She loves to look at herself and talk to herself.

Not quite reading yet.....but enjoying the taste of her book!

This and That....

Well things have been pretty busy, so here is an update of what we've been up to. It seems like there is less time to sit down and fill everyone in on Emma's exciting life! By the time she goes to sleep for the night there are a thousand things to get done (laundry, dishes, cleaning,.....SLEEP!). Josh was home for the past five days and he decided he was going to put Emma down for her nap and this is how I found them. Emma does NOT like to nap, so we have to rock her and hold her until she is basically passed out before we put her in her crib, otherwise her eyes pop open and she does NOT want to sleep (and screams.....and we can't just let her scream). Anyway--aren't they cute! This was the day Josh got home so he was enjoying a little quiet time and snuggle time with his little girl. Emma will be six months old next week and I can officially say her room is complete! It has been mostly done, but there were just a few finishing touches that needed to be done. My friend Kasey painted some cute animals on the walls to go with the animal theme, they came out cute.
With all the rain lately our grass was about three feet long. So I looked outside and saw Tucker out there, you could barely see him! So cute!
Again--with all the rain our pasture and the grass on our property desperately needed mowing. So while Josh was home he worked on that.
On Saturday we headed to the Elizabeth Stampede. Emma is only 5 months old and she can say she has already been to 2 rodeos! We have been going to the Stampede since we moved out here. It is fun and so "small-townish". I don't know if that is really a description....but that is one of the reasons we moved out here for fun small town events that big cities don't really do (or they do but there is like a million people there!). Anyway---some pics of bull riding. This is always my favorite!
Emma did great at the rodeo (it was two hours!). One lady near us said "That is such a good baby I haven't heard a peep out of her this whole time! And she is so cute!" Of course she behaved---she's our child! I'm not biased or anything! I love her in hats--of course she takes after me and has a big head....this hat is sized 12 months (well that is what the tag says). I just love her in hats!
Yes this is a Coors Light cup that a beer was in, but I promise there was no beer left, but it entertained Emma for that last 45 minutes!
Josh's birthday was last week and Emma signed her first birthday card! OK--so she had a little help. Here is the front: (sorry a bit blurry)
And the inside.....I gave her a marker and she made all those marks! Of course when we were finished she had marker all over her hands.
