Emma looking very cute in one of the stocking caps that Josh's cousin Diana knitted for her. These are the only caps that fit her right now...all of the other hats we have for her are too big.
A visit from Great Aunt Peggy and Great Uncle Dennis. They drove from across town to come and see their great-niece. What a treat for us and them. As a bonus Emma stayed awake for their visit!

Emma's First Christmas
Josh, Emma, and I spent a quiet Christmas at home, just the three of us. We had plans to be in the mountains with my whole family, but Emma came early and we thought it would be best if we stayed at home. Josh's mom did make us a nice Christmas dinner, which she brought over later in the day.
Emma's first Christmas present (thanks to Nona and Papa)! The little dog is about half her size and I am sure she will love playing with it when she can stay awake long enough!

First Day at Home
This is where Emma spent her first day at home. Sad for us...it was hard to lay her in there when all we wanted to do was hold her. At this point we were hoping this would only last a day (and it did). We took Emma in the next day for a blood test and we got the all-clear! Her levels came back great and she could finally wear clothes and continue with her life---without the lights!
This picture makes me laugh. I really don't think she minded the warm lights, it was Josh and me who didn't want her under them.
Going Home
Here Emma is all bundled up ready for her first car ride to her new home! The little round thing on her forehead is where they test her levels for the jaundice so we couldn't take it off yet.
Auntie Anna was there to greet us. This is her meeting Emma for the first time.
Emma's Tanning Bed
The day we were going to leave the hospital Emma had a slight case of Jaundice. I say slight case because apparently she was right on the border of "normal" and "jaundice", so nothing too big to worry about, but all day Sunday (starting at 6:00 am that morning) she had to lay under the lights. So, we thought we would be there another night. The Doctor came in later that morning and told us if we wanted to we could go home, but we would need to have her under the lights at home. We decided to go home, I had had enough of the hospital, so we prepared to go home.

She's Here!
Emma Ramona Warner was born on December 19, 2008 at 6:17 pm. She was 6 lbs. 8 oz. 19 in. long. My water broke at 2:15 am and Josh was not home! He was in Las Vegas so my parents had to come and get me. Of course Josh was frantic, I think I was more calm than he was! He caught a plane at 6:30 from Vegas and made it to the hospital by 10:30, just in time to hold my hand while I was getting my epidural. After the epidural the rest of the labor and delivery went well. I pushed for about an hour and then Emma made her grand entrance. The 3 year wait to have her was worth it!
