2 Week Appointment

This morning after dropping Emma off at Kendra's house Kaylee and I headed for her 2 week check-up with Dr. Arthur. She is doing great! She weighed in at 9 lbs. 1.5 oz. and 21 in. long. She is growing well....and sleeping 4 hrs. at night (on average).
This weekend I was able to get out without the girls. I took them to Nana Pamela's house and I headed to a ladies Christmas social at our church. We did an advent celebration, sang carols, did a cookie exchange, and an ornament exchange. It was great to connect with the other ladies at my church (and to have a break from "mommyhood"). Speaking of the ladies at my church...for the past couple of weeks we have been made about 5 or so meals (another one tonight..yum!) from the ladies in my woman's small group. What a blessing these women have been! This has been such a help! Besides that we just stuck around the house this weekend. Emma is getting into EVERYTHING....see some pics below, Enjoy! The pantry....
File Cabinet.....
She found envelopes in the file cabinet.
My purse
Stuff in the background on the floor is the stuff from my purse!
I really do watch my daughter...but this is all keeping her busy while I cook, clean, feed Kaylee....etc.! When she got my purse it kept her busy the whole time I made cookies and I made 4 dozen! And she wasn't harming anything and she was happy as could be!

32 Years Old and 2 weeks old

Happy Birthday to Me! It was a very quiet day. We stayed home and did nothing! It was too cold to go out anywhere. We started the day out with some pancakes (which I had to make) and then finished the day with a yummy (very fancy....) spaghetti dinner (which I had to make as well). One day Emma and Kaylee will be old enough to make me breakfast in bed...right? Anyway, Josh is off working so it was just us girls. I had a lot of nice birthday phone calls and posts on facebook. I'm wondering though....when was it that birthdays became just another day????
Also, early yesterday morning Kaylee turned 2 weeks old! She celebrated by staying up a little later than normal, but her big sister Emma slept ALL the way through the night. She usually gets up once (after about 5-6 hours) to eat. I've been bad though and I'll just make her a bottle, cuddle with her for a minute and put her back in bed (with the bottle!). I know you are not suppose to do that...but I need my sleep! And she DOES drink the bottle, in the morning it is gone, so she must be hungry?!?! If she gets up again though...I've been giving her tough love and letting her cry...the first night she cried on and off for 25 minutes, but two nights ago...less than 5 minute and of course last night, NOTHING not a bottle or any word from her until 6:15.
On to a couple of pics....
My lovely dinner companions! Look at Emma trying to use her fork! Kaylee sitting with me wondering when she can have spaghetti! :)

Updates...

Kaylee is just about two weeks old now and it seems like she has always been here. It has been a crazy and exhausting two weeks, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.
So updates with Kaylee. She is eating like a champ. She is so alert during the day, just looking around and being awake. Emma slept her first four weeks of life away, but not Kaylee! She is also a talker and noise maker. She is constantly making noises, while awake and asleep. Though at first I think her nights and days were confused, she has figured that out. Her first week I was averaging about 3 hours of sleep....talk about being a zombie (and grumpy...just ask Josh). Now though she is sleeping about 5 hours in one stretch during the night, so I am feeling much better. She started doing this Saturday when Josh left, she must have known that I was flying solo!
Really I'm not trying to suffocate Kaylee, she just wiggled her way down into the blanket.
Now on to Miss Emma. She is such a snuggle bug lately, and this started before Kaylee was born. She loves to hug and give me kisses, I love it! She is on the verge of walking. She can do 5-6 steps on her own before dropping to her knees. So, any day now she will be an expert. Emma also loves her sister, almost too much, she doesn't quite understand "gentle". It has definitely been hard at times. She is so young still she doesn't understand how to be patient and that she has to wait for mommy, but her face lights up and she is so happy to see Kaylee in the morning or after she hasn't seen her for awhile, so cute!
Notice the little cut by Emma's eye...from my fingernail! ....Terrible mom, I felt so bad, and boy did Emma scream when it happened. Lots of snuggles and kisses helped though! Oh--and see her purse, she carries it everywhere around the house.
Emma lovin' on Kaylee.... Giving her a kiss, notice Emma's hand right in Kaylee's face, but she didn't mind!

Happy Thanksgiving!

WOW! So much to be thankful for this year. To think last Thanksgiving we had no children (well one on the way.....) and this Thanksgiving we have two beautiful girls! Boy do we have a lot to be thankful for. After many years of wanting a family Josh and I were talking and we finally are one! (well we were before but without kiddos we felt like something was missing) Being patient and trusting that God has his own plan for us and our family has made us into one! God is good! Also I have a wonderful husband who supports me in so many ways! And I can't forget my wonderful family and friends who are always there for me.
Look at those cheeks!
OK---on with our Thanksgiving. We headed up to the mountains to my Uncle Dean's house in Fairplay. It was a bit of a drive but a nice ride. It was good to see my cousins and other family. Emma had fun and was not to clingy to me or Josh (which is good....she's been super clingy!). Everyone else took turns snuggling Kaylee. It was a great day, but boy was Emma exhausted---she is still recovering a day later!
I love this...Ashton and Emma looking outside there is only a year between them, but Ashton looks so big!
Uncle Duane Poppa having fun with Emma
One group shot (of course this is just a few....I slacked one the picture taking, I was a bit busy with Kaylee and Emma!)
Katy and Emma rocking (two of the three girls)

Baptism

Today we had both girls baptized. We had Jessica (the minister who married us) perform the ceremony. We have been going to the same church for just over two years now, but we wanted her to do it because she knows us well and is family to us. Best part...we did it here at home! We had the family over for the big event. Instead of picking two God parents for each we had the whole family taking responsibility for the girls if anything were to happen. Anyway, it was very nice and I loved the vows that Jessica had us say. We want our daughters to know the lord and grow up knowing what it means to be a Christian. Everyone was there; my whole family and Josh's family, we even skyped his sister Rachael in so she could be a part of everything!
Rachael on the computer :)
One of the first (rare) pics of all four of us!

Proud Big Sister

Emma loves her new sister! While she was holding her she kept giving her kisses (couldn't get a pic because every time she heard the camera...she would look up). She sat there with Kaylee for about 10 minutes (which is forever to an 11 month old).
Lots of kisses for baby Kaylee!
