New Look

Maybe because so many things are about to change right now, I decided to change the blog (again!). I was never too crazy about the other design....I liked it but could never get the text just right. Anyway, there will soon be a new character on the blog, so I figured a new design too (hopefully I can add her picture soon!). I am here at school occupying my time. Usually I have 101 things I need to get done....but I'm done! At least with what I want to get done! I have plans and stuff run for the next week and a half (in case I am gone), I have everything graded, I even have most of my room put away (I have to move this time) for when we track off on November 24th! I am finished with my time in the mobile and I get to join everyone else back inside the building, YAY! Though I have liked being out here, no one comes in my room and bugs me...but it tends to get lonely! Enough rambling, my lovely cherubs will be back soon (I only have 12 today---5 are out sick!). No pics....I think that is a first :)

waiting....waiting....waiting.....

We were told that our birthmother would be induced on Tuesday (yesterday....), but it didn't happen! We don't get much info. so it's a bit frustrating and hard to wait! We will learn more today.....hopefully in the next hour or so.
In the meantime.....we have been waiting....trying to entertain ourselves and keep our mind off of the upcoming event. We have gotten several things done around the house that needed to be finished. I have the newborn and 0-3 month baby clothes washed and put away, the swing and bouncy seat are back out, both car seats are in the car, Emma's room is finished, cooked and froze a few meals, went to Costco and Walmart for lots of food and diapers,.....the list could go on and on......
On to other things. Emma loves pickles! It must have been the fried pickles I ate while pregnant, I couldn't get enough (maybe that was where the extra 50 lbs. came from).
Emma can stand on her own without holding on.....sometimes a step, but no walking yet!
Emma has officially moved to her "big girl" room! We put the new crib together on Saturday and she has slept in there ever since.
Emma's Lovey is a little Winnie the Pooh head attached to a blanket that is silky on one side and soft on the other, she loves it!
Kind of a funny shot but a better pic of "Winnie" (that's what we call it)
That's all for now! Maybe next time Emma will be a sister.....stay tuned for news!

Halloween and more.....

Happy Halloween!!! A week later! Our little Emma Bean was a lion cub, look how cute she is!!!
Kelli and Conner met up with us and we did "Trick or Treat Street" in Elizabeth (the town we live near). That is what we have to do here because it is hard to go house to house out in the rural areas. It was in the middle of the day so perfect for Miss Emma! Both Conner and Emma just seemed so is awe of it all.
The fire house was "open" for viewing...Conner loved this!
I love her BIG eyes in this one!
Emma went to a pumpkin patch with daycare and she got her own little pumpkin! Just her size.
These few pics make me laugh. Hmmmmm what book shall I read?...
...maybe this one....
If I get in maybe I can see better.....
Look mom!
Now I'll just sit in with them!
Well, next time I post I will probably have some big news. Now I have to think of a new blog name..any ideas???? Or just add Kaylee's name....Emma and Kaylee's World...not sure what to do yet! We met the birthmother on Monday and she seems wonderful. A lot of my nervous feelings have disappeared (though not completely!). We are still praying that everything works out and goes smoothly. So keep checking back for pictures of the new little princess that is soon joining our family! Until next time.....

Snow Day!

Today we are home from work and daycare! Hooray for a snow day! Maybe tomorrow too.....I won't push it! (but it would be nice...the day before Halloween the kids will be crazy). So, we've been cooped up inside all day, but that is fine with me. I'm not even out of my jammies, love it!
These two hate cold weather...they were shivering when I took this!
Nothing else new. We are still all set with the adoption stuff. I have to meet with a lady tomorrow to do some more paper work, but then we just wait. It is weird, I'm not sure how to feel. I know it is real, but so different from being pregnant (obviously!) because those feelings growing from the moment you know you are pregnant. With the adoption I am cautiously excited, but I have no doubt I will be full of love for our new little one the moment I hold her, which could be any day now really! So for now we just wait.
I have unpacked (which I just put away a couple of months ago) the newborn stuff, crazy that Emma was just in all that stuff 10 months ago and now another little princess will be wearing them! We have also started Emma's new room. She is moving across the hall and now it is a "girlie" room. The nursery is animals and it's gender-neutral. Her new room is blue, but with pink, flowers and butterflies. We haven't gotten another crib yet, but that can wait. The new baby will be in the bassinet for the first few months anyway.
We took a nap right after this...I wonder why????
That's about all here.

10 Months Old.....

OK...so Emma was 10 months old several days ago, but I haven't had the time to sit down and post anything until tonight. I have pictures of course though!
So what is Miss Emma up to at 10 months???
Well......
-She is working on the two bottom teeth on either side of the two bottom middle ones (the I teeth I think?). Anyway---she still doesn't have the top middle ones and all the books say that those come in next, well not with Emma. I think they are close also, but the bottom ones you can see I guess she is breaking the "rules" already.
-She is eating pretty much everything, would just love to feed herself. So during meal time I have to give her some finger food and then try to feed her bites of her baby food between her own bites, otherwise she doesn't eat.
-She knows what NO means and shakes her head. -She waves hi and bye. I love that, when I leave her at daycare or when I am picking her up she starts waving, so cute!
-Still crawling. Can walk along furniture and stuff and can stand on her own, but still doesn't have the confidence to walk. She took a step a couple of weeks ago and realized what she was doing and then fell down to her knees.
-Last night she slept alllllllllll the way through the night. Went down at 6:30 and slept until 5:30 WOW! She usually goes for 7 hours on average.
-She loves to dance to music. That's all I can think of for now. She is growing up too fast! And to think she is only 10 months old and soon she is going to be the big sister!** Funny!
Like all kids, loves the plastic containers!
She can keep up with this walking toy now: Tried to get the hairbrush away from her for a cute pic of her Halloween outfit.... she wasn't having it! But she still looks cute!
Our little dancer: **Yes....Emma will be a big sister in November sometime. We got matched with a birthmother and her due date is November 14th. Please keep your thoughts and prayers with our family right now. It is very hard to wait and to know that the birthmother could change her mind at any time, but so far...everything is going good!

Sorry it has been awhile! Although no one comments (hint hint!), I know a lot of family and a few friends read this.....so sorry I have been missing! Emma decided that she enjoyed the taste of the cord the connects my camera to the computer and ever since, the cord doesn't work anymore. SO--I had to get a new one! And I couldn't post any messages without pictures! :)
On with news. I am home today from school because I have no voice. Hard to teach a bunch of second graders with no voice! Probably be out tomorrow also. Emma still went to Kendra's house so I could sleep and relax. To tell you the truth though it seems a bit quiet around here! Anyway some cute pics below she was so smiley this past weekend and we got some good pictures of her.
We haven't done a whole lot the past week. I have had a cold so haven't felt 100% and.... we just enjoy being at home! Josh is still home, and has been for over 2 weeks now. Which is nice, but when you are self-employed if you are not working....no $ is coming in! Things will be fine though, and it is nice to have him around. He has even been cleaning a little around the house while I have been at work! WOW! What a great husband!
Lots of pics since it has been awhile!

"Hayride" Fun!

We went on a "hayride" (a hayride with no hay and pulled by a Suburban!) on Friday night. Nana Pamela invited to go with her and her school. It was at the Plains Consevation Center. We had a good time, but it was a bit chilly! Fall is definetely here! Besides that we had a pretty quiet weekend just spending time together.
Thanks for the fun night Nana Pamela!
